🌍✨ The African Indigenous Renaissance (AIR) Project – Empowering Bitou District Artists! 🎶🎭

The African Indigenous Renaissance (AIR) Project, an initiative by the Cape Town Arts Festival in partnership with the Ariva Arts Foundation, is a groundbreaking pilot program dedicated to uplifting and empowering musicians, fine artists, and crafters in the Bitou District.

🎵 What is the AIR Project?

This transformative initiative equips local artists with essential skills and opportunities, offering:
✅ Training in Indigenous instrument making & playing
✅ Exploration of acoustics & performance techniques
✅ Business & event management mentorship
✅ A platform to create and host their festival!

🔥 Countdown to the AIR Festival 2025!

As part of their journey, participants will curate and present the AIR Festival on Human Rights Day – March 21, 2025, in Kranshoek, Plettenberg Bay! 🎉 This festival will serve as a celebration of cultural heritage, creativity, and artistic excellence.

The AIR Project Auditions at St. Peter’s Church in Plettenberg Bay brought together exceptional emerging musicians eager to secure a spot in this life-changing program. Each artist showcased their talent, passion, and dedication to preserving and innovating Indigenous music traditions.
