The African Indigenous Renaissance (AIR) Project, an initiative by the Cape Town Arts Festival in partnership with the Ariva Arts Foundation, is a groundbreaking pilot program dedicated to uplifting and empowering musicians, fine artists, and crafters in the Bitou District.

๐ŸŽต What is the AIR Project?

This transformative initiative equips local artists with essential skills and opportunities, offering:
โœ… Training in Indigenous instrument making & playing
โœ… Exploration of acoustics & performance techniques
โœ… Business & event management mentorship
โœ… A platform to create and host their festival!

๐Ÿ”ฅ Countdown to the AIR Festival 2025!

As part of their journey, participants will curate and present the AIR Festival on Human Rights Day โ€“ March 21, 2025, in Kranshoek, Plettenberg Bay! ๐ŸŽ‰ This festival will serve as a celebration of cultural heritage, creativity, and artistic excellence.

The AIR Project Auditionsย atย St. Peterโ€™s Church in Plettenberg Bayย brought together exceptional emerging musicians eager to secure a spot in this life-changing program. Each artist showcased their talent, passion, and dedication to preserving and innovating Indigenous music traditions.
